About the HR Strategy & Operations role

The Paystack team has grown from 130 people to over 215 employees across our five core locations. We expect our team to grow even further over the next year, both at our Lagos HQ and other locations. We’re hiring for HR Strategy & Operations to design, plan, and implement key programs involving our people.

As HR Strategy & Operations, your responsibility will be to build excellent programs to attract, develop, reward and retain top talent. You will use innovative and streamlined processes to help the company maintain its culture as it rapidly scales and provide an environment where employees can do their best work. The location of the role is Dubai, UAE or Lagos, Nigeria and is remote-friendly. The HR Strategy & Operations role reports to the Head of People.

We’ll trust you to

  • Manage the annual performance management process, including designing the promotion and calibration processes

  • Build and maintain the Paystack job architecture and career framework by partnering with business leads to articulate the skills required to be successful at each level and aligning this to global standards

  • Support managers with managing low and top performance, by building the infrastructure by which they can create and track Performance Improvement Plans as well as develop top talent action plans

  • Advise managers on appropriate salary leveling and reward structures for their teams

  • Partner with leadership to develop Paystack's compensation philosophy and reward strategies

  • Manage salary, equity and benefits benchmarking, reviewing survey data across all geographies in which Paystack employs talent

  • Design and run annual compensation review and planning process

  • Develop customized approaches to equity to address needs of employees across various countries

  • Educate employees on the compensation structure and assess effectiveness and ROI

  • Build relevant tooling / systems to manage compensation, equity, and performance management processes

  • Continuously analyze and assess the success of the company's HR programs to identify opportunities for optimization

  • Keep a pulse on employee sentiment and needs to determine what people programs may need disruption or optimization in the future

You’ll thrive in this role if you

  • You have extensive knowledge of HR / People Operations at fast-growing tech start-ups or scaleups

  • You have experience managing HR / People programs in fast-paced organizations

  • You have experience with various HR tools

  • You have a strong knowledge of job evaluation principles and benchmarking methodologies

  • You have experience working with various types of compensation survey providers and have managed equity for a public company with operations across various countries

  • You have strong project management, analytical, organizational and excel skills

  • You have exceptional attention to detail and have experience working in fast-paced organizations

  • You have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal

  • You are a creative problem solver

  • You have a bias towards continuous learning

  • You have a passion for building relationships and tackling people-related issues

  • You have deep empathy for co-workers

  • You prioritize confidentiality and are a trusted source of advice and information for team members
