In this role, you will:

Analyse customer documentation to meet regulatory and internal compliance standards, ensuring accurate KYC/KYB and AML processes.
Act as the first point of contact for prospective clients, providing onboarding support and responding professionally via email and phone.
Build detailed client profiles from official sources to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Validate and verify documentation, guiding Sales teams to resolve any discrepancies efficiently.
Collaborate with Compliance, Sales, and Product teams to address compliance concerns and enhance processes.
Deliver meaningful feedback to improve Verto’s onboarding processes, efficiency, and inter-team workflows.
Conduct periodic reviews of high-risk accounts, presenting findings and mitigation strategies to senior compliance officers.
Undertake quality assurance checks on customer files to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Keep up-to-date with industry best practices, regulatory updates, and internal policy changes.
Share expertise with teammates to foster continuous learning and improvement within the onboarding team.

You’ll be responsible for:

Ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations, including Money Laundering Regulations, Proceeds of Crime Act, and JMLSG.
Maintaining and improving onboarding SLAs for timely and compliant customer activation.
Providing succinct overviews of high-risk accounts to MLRO/DMLRO to facilitate informed decisions.
Identifying opportunities to refine onboarding processes and executing them effectively.
Supporting the escalation of financial crime suspicions in line with internal protocols.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education: University degree (minimum requirement); professional qualifications (e.g., ICA or ACA) preferred for compliance-related functions.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in KYC/Onboarding within an FCA-regulated firm.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Money Laundering Regulations, complex entity structures (e.g., trusts), and beneficial ownership requirements.
Emerging Markets Expertise: Awareness of regional nuances, particularly in West Africa.

Horizon scanning and proactive awareness of regulatory changes.
