You’ll work closely with the CFO and other senior leaders to ensure financial integrity, compliance, and performance visibility across the business.

What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting, Control & Audit

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly performance and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including the CFO and the Board.
  • Maintain the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of the general ledger and financial statements.
  • Review, post, and approve monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and adjusting entries.
  • Track and report on key business and financial performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity planning.
  • Support the CFO in preparing board-level and regulatory reports (SEC, NGX, and other authorities).
  • Liaise with auditors during annual and interim audits, preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives across departments.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.

Tax & Compliance

  • Oversee all tax engagements, filings, and audits (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Company Income Tax, etc.).
  • Advise on the tax implications of business transactions and ensure full compliance with all statutory tax requirements.
  • Liaise with external tax consultants, auditors, and regulators to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure timely remittance of all statutory obligations (pensions, NHF, ITF, NSITF, etc.).

Governance, Process & Advisory

  • Strengthen internal financial controls, approval workflows, and documentation standards.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to guide investment and business decisions.
  • Support system improvements and ERP integration for more efficient financial management.
  • Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the CFO.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAN) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 2 years in a mid-management role.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting for regulated entities (SEC, NGX, or equivalent).
  • Prior experience in fund management, asset management, or brokerage is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or equivalent) and ERPs.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and integrity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:

  • Have a growth mindset and enjoy improving systems and processes.
  • Communicate financial insights clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • Take ownership and initiative — you don’t wait to be told what’s broken; you fix it.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, innovative fintech environment where no two days are the same.
  • Are passionate about helping people build financial freedom through sound investment management.
