Job Summary

As a Senior Finance Associate, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of the company, focusing on financial statements, analysis, budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and relationship management. The successful candidate will oversee finance associates, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and present financial information to internal and external stakeholders. You will report to the Head of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial statements and analysis

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management accounts for all entities
  • Preparation of consolidated financial statements for the group.
  • Produce financial analysis and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including the leadership team, board of directors, investors, and strategic partners.
  • Supervise the finance associates in general accounting duties such as processing transactions, reconciliations, and closing the books.

Budgeting, Auditing, and Forecasting

  • Prepare, consolidate, and monitor annual budgets and forecasts across the group, and report budget performance and variances to the management.
  • Assist in the drafting of the annual operating plan for the business functions and refresh the outlook for the year every quarter by working with the Products, Payment Operations, Marketing, and Growth teams.
  • Identify, develop, and report on key performance metrics in tailored reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop accurate and timely cash flow projections based on historical data, current financial activities, and future business plans.
  • Manage the year-end reporting and audit functions for the group.

Regulatory Compliance and Reporting

  • Coordinate tax and regulatory obligations for all entities.
  • Support VAT, WHT, EMTL and other statutory filings and remittances.
  • Handle regulatory reporting and engagements with relevant authorities, including NRS, LIRS, CBN, SEC, FRC and NDIC.
  • Coordinate tax audits, regulatory reviews and other compliance engagements.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide guidance and supervision to Finance Associates.
  • Coach and develop junior members of the team.
  • Share knowledge and help build strong financial processes and capabilities within the team.
  • Encourage a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement.

Relationship Management

  • Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners - represent the company to banks, financial partners, institutions, investors, public auditors, and officials.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
  • 7–9 years of relevant post-graduation experience, with at least 3 years in financial services, fintech or a related environment.
  • Must be a Chartered Accountant
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent knowledge of Accounting Software (Sage, Quickbooks, Microsoft Dynamics, etc)
  • Experience in managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in engaging different groups of Regulators
  • Experience managing people
