LemFi (Series B) is building the go-to financial app for the Global South.

Moving to a new country shouldn’t mean starting from zero. That's why our team of 400+ spanning 20+ countries is building a financial ecosystem that helps immigrants stay connected to home, build stability, and create wealth regardless of where they are from or where they live.

What began as fast, affordable remittances is now evolving into a complete platform for multi-currency accounts, payments, credit, and long-term financial growth.

With over 2 million users across the globe, we process over $1.5B in monthly transactions to 30+ countries, proving that borders shouldn't limit financial opportunity.

The Role

You will be the guardian of our regulatory integrity in the UK. As a senior leader in our Compliance function, you won't just follow rules; you will actively shape our framework to ensure our products, services, and operations remain compliant while supporting our growth. You will serve as the primary bridge between LemFi and UK authorities, ensuring that our operations align perfectly with FCA AML/CTF requirements.

How You'll Contribute

  • Lead Regulatory Compliance: Ensure our products and services comply strictly with FCA rules and UK AML/CTF requirements, while keeping up to date with changes in JMLSG provisions and the wider regulatory landscape.

  • Own Regulatory Relationships: Act as the subject-matter expert and main point of contact for the FCA, National Crime Agency (NCA), and other UK authorities, managing all regulatory requests, SARs, and information notices.

  • Drive Strategy & Policy: Maintain the UK AML policy in line with enterprise standards and lead the implementation of new regulatory requirements into business operations.

  • Oversee Risk & Reporting: Manage internal and external AML/CTF audits and produce critical management information (MI) reports for the Senior Executive Team and the Board.

  • Empower the Team: Mentor compliance staff, drive operational improvements, and collaborate with global teams to ensure UK requirements are embedded in group policies.

Who You Are

  • Culturally Aligned: You would thrive in a fintech startup environment. You bring a humble, yet uplifting attitude alongside a diligent work ethic.

  • Adaptable: You are comfortable working in a rapidly changing business and regulatory environment and can adapt to global operational needs.

  • A Strong Communicator: You possess excellent analytical, research, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Collaborative: You are an empowering and considerate colleague who is ready to lend a hand on cross-functional responsibilities to ensure the success of the company.

  • Analytical: You are proficient with data analysis (including Excel) and have the ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly.

What You'll Bring

  • 5-7 years of experience in a senior or lead compliance role at a UK-based fintech or financial institution.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the UK regulatory environment, including the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA), Money Laundering Regulations 2017 (MLRs), and FCA Handbook requirements.

  • Direct experience managing regulatory engagement and maintaining regulatory permissions/registrations.

  • Proven experience mentoring, training, and managing compliance staff.

  • Bonus: CAMS certification (or equivalent).
